Harold F. Warren

Graveside services for Harold F. Warren , 79, of Mentor, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mentor Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Road, Mentor, Section 22.

Mr. Warren died March 15, 1999, at his son's residence.

Born Aug. 2, 1919 in Flaxton, N.D., he lived in Painesville before moving to Mentor 30 years ago.

He was an engineer at Uniroyal in Fairport Harbor for 37 years, retiring in 1986. He was a former commodore of Power Squadron, former president of Western Reserve Historical and Genealogical Societies, and a former member of the Fairport Harbor Yacht Club, where he owned the boat Sea Dragin'. VFW Fairport Harbors, and First Presbyterian Church in Willoughby.

He loved boating, genealogy and traveling. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a 1938 graduate of Harvey High School in Painesville.

Survivors are his wife, Mary; daughters, Katie (Gerald) Fisher of Wickliffe, Susan (Charles) Cope of Raleigh, N.C., Constance Lawson of Gainesville, Fla., Jennifer (Michael) Kline of Frenchtown, N.J., and Jane Glasgow of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sons, Harold F. "Jim" Warren II of Miami, Fla., John (Joyce) Warren of Eastlake, and Jack (Sharon) Glasgow of Painesville; 25 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and sister, Marie Haynes of Madison.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Brandon R. Smith; parents, Oliver and Ethel Warren; sister, Mabel Pettit; and brothers, Hervey, Frank, Clinton, and Faye Warren.
