Services for Sophie Romig, 84, of Painesville, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville.

Mrs. Romig died Sept. 24, 1995, at the Homestead II Nursing Home in Painesville.

Born May 13, 1911, in Cleveland, she lived in Painesville for 44 years.

She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses, Painesville Congregation.

She was an employee of the LakeEast Hospital Housekeeping Department for 20 years, retiring in 1976.

Survivors are her sons, Raymond of Concord Township, Andrew of Rock Creek, and Allan of Painesville, 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Her husband, Otto, died in 1964. Her brother, George Putka, and sister, Mary Awarski are also deceased.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Painesville.

The family suggests contributions be made to the Painesville Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville, 44077.
