Mabel I. Putka

Mabel I. Putka, 87, a Lake County resident of many years, died Sunday at Richmond Heights General Hospital after a long illness.

Born April 19, 1914 in Cleveland, Mrs. Putka lived most of her life in Painesville, Perry and Mentor. She lived at 111 E. Washington St., Painesville, and was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors are a son, David of Madison; daughter, Janet Farmer of Willoughby; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. L. D. Fortney, in 1979.

Services are 2 p. m. Wednesday at Kingdom Hall, 1000 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Reader will be Jmes Horton. Calling hours ar 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Spear Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Burial will be in Perry Cemetery. The family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
