Andrew S. Putka

Andrew S. Putka, 81, of 76 Elberta Road died this morning at his home after an illness of one year.

Born Sept. 17, 1885 in Czechoslovakia, he came to Cleveland as a young man. He moved to Painesville 25 years ago.

Mr. Putka was a licensed fireman, retiring six years ago from Clifton Products Co.

He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, Painesville Congregation.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sophie Romig of Painesville, and Mrs. Mary Awarskie of Wickliffe; son, George of Cristian St. Croix, Virgin Islands; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Anna Visocky, Cleveland.

His wife, Sophie M., preceded him in death, July 2, 1966.

Services will be Monday, 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall, Painesville. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends will be received Saturday, 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Spear Funeral Home.
