Frank H. Pettit, 66, of 66 Nelmar Drive, Painesville, a Painesville resident most of his life, died Sunday at Lake County Memorial Hospital, Painesville, following a short illness
Pettit, a retired painter and interior decorator, was born April 15, 1910 in Harpersfield. For 16 years after World War II, he worked at Lake County Memorial Hospital in Painesville.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars 26 Gold Star Post No 7754 of Fairport and a 32-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, No 2278, Painesville.
Survivors include his widow, Mabele A.; four daughters, Mrs. George (Carol) Miller, Mrs. Ray (Myrtle) Romig and Mrs. Helen Berta, all of Painesville and Mrs. Wesley (Judy) Baxter of Baton Rouge, La.; eight grandchildren, three brothers, Carl and George of Painesville, and Clarence of Zepher Hill, Fla..
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Painesville.
There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are in charge of the Nixon Funeral Home, 176 North State St., Painesville.
