Paul E. Loomis Sr.
ROCK CREEK — Paul E. Loomis Sr., 77, died Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sundberg, Rock Creek, where he had been making his home.
Born in Painesville on Feb 28, 1906, he was the son of Otis and Hazel Arnold Loomis and hand been a lifetime area resident.
Mr. Loomis was a farmer, owning and operating several farms in Ashtabula and Lake counties.
He is survived by four sons, Eugene O., Paul E., Jr., Donald R., and Alvin C., all of Jefferson; three daughters, Mrs. Mabel White of Conneaut, Mrs. Lloyd (Hazel) Housel of Pierpont Twp., and Mrs. Marion Wolf of Conneaut; one brother, Edward O. Loomis of Mentor; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Charlotte) Phillips of Chardon and Mrs. Rae (Odalite) Young in Florida; 27 grandchildren, and 57 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Belle, in 1974, a son, Robert, in infancy; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar; and a sister, Sylvia Brown.
Services were Monday at the Jack W. Ross Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. George Johnson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial was in West Williamsfield Cemetery.
