Oscar W. Loomis

ROME, O. — Oscar Wallace Loomis, 47, who was born in Painesville, died here Wednesday.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis A. Loomis, he married the former Ella Louise Ely July 6, 1936.

He lived with his family in Rome the past 11 years and was employed by the Ashtabula Star-Beacon. Mr. Loomis also did repair work on furniture.

A member and past master of Rome Grange, he was also a member of Rome Presbyterian Church and Rome Civic Assn. He was a former chief observer for Civilian Defense Corps.

Surviving besides his wife are sons Arthur and Richard at home; daughters, Jean, at home, Mrs. Evelyn Knox and Mrs. Dorothy Jones of Ashtabula; mother, Mrs. Hazel Webster; sisters, Mrs. Odalite Martony and Mrs. Silvia Brown of Painesville and Mrs. Charlotte Phillips of Chardon; brothers, Paul of Ashtabula and Edward of Painesville; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers at services conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Paine Funeral Home, Orwell, were Walter Taylor Jr., Edward Knox, Donald Jones and Lester Maple.
