Joseph L. Haynes

Services for Joseph L. Haynes, 69, of Madison Township, a retired welder for the former IRC Fibers and Diamond Shamrock Corp., both in Painesville Township, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville.

Mr. Haynes died Tuesday at Geneva Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 9, 1921 in Dickson City, Pa.

He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7754 in Fairport Harbor, and a music teacher at Haynes Music in Madison.

Survivors are his wife, Marie (Warren); stepsons, Richard Popp of Painesville and Raymond Popp of Tocoma, Wash.; daughter, Jo Lorraine Whitsell of Madison; stepdaughter, Marilyn Walton of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Helen Weaver of Mentor and Mary Toivonen of Perry Township; and 10 grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. His nephew, the Rev. Jeffery Weaver of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Akron, will officiate at services.
