Elenora B. Doolittle, 84, of Birnamwood, Wis.
Elenora B. Doolittle, 84, of Birnamwood, Wis., died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at Aspirus Wausu Hospital.
She was born July 18, 1921, in Temvik, the daughter of Herbert and Mary Edith (Brown) Benedict.
On October 28, 1941, she was united in marriage to Floyd Doolittle in Temvik. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1993.
Elenora taught school in North Dakota prior to moving to Racine, Wis., in 1951. She then moved to Wittenberg in 1970 and operated the Blue Spruce Tavern retiring in 1979 then moving to Birnamwood. The couple spent winters in Edinburg, Texas, and she continued until last year.
She was a member of New Horizons Methodist Church, Wittenberg and the Bloecher-Johnson American Legion Post #502 Auxiliary. Elenora enjoyed crafts, camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to follow her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in sports.
Survivors include four children, Bob (Dianne) Doolittle of Birnamwood, Bonnie (Don) Chady and Diane (Art) Hansen, all of Racine and Gloria (Gerald) Pieper of Bowler, one daughter-in-law, Sharon Doolittle of Racine, fourteen grandchildren, Randy, Donald, Robin, Brian, Jim, Lance, Jackie, Christine, April, Autumn, Amber, Theresa, Tom and Tanya and 25 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Dale, four brothers, Dean Kelly, Clarence, Ernest and Kenneth Benedict and three sisters, Gertrude Doolittle, Elma Rambough and Edna Mausehund.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at New Horizons Methodist Church in Wittenberg with the Rev. Les Munnik officiating.
Interment was held in Forest Home Cemetery in Wittenberg.
