George A. Center Sr.
Funeral services for George A. Center Sr., 78, a lifetime resident of Painesville, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., in Painesville.
Mr. Center died Jan. 3, 2006, at Lake Med Rehab in Painesville.
He was born Jan. 31, 1927, in Painesville.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2278, in Painesville and Union Local 47, in Cleveland. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater and loved fishing, walking and being outdoors.
Mr. Center was employed for 44 years by A&P Window Cleaning and also operated his own window cleaning business for several years.
Survivors are his sons, George A. (Ruth) Center Jr., of Tucson, Ariz., and Robert A. (Arleen) Center of Painesville; daughter, Mary B. (Wayne) McBride of Painesville; sister, Ruth Purvis of Merritt Island, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Gerald D. Kalb of Painesville United Methodist Church will officiate the services.
